Sarah Newberry

I strive to create work that is easy to use, comfortable, and playful. Starting with the wheel and altering the thrown vessel, form gives lively personality and movement to my pottery while a playful design on the surface completes each piece. Time spent at family gatherings inspire my work- sewing, outdoor playtime, and evening adventures in my childhood neighborhood with my sister.

Bio
In 2010 Sarah graduated from Western Michigan University with a BFA in Ceramics and Art Education. Immediately after graduating, she moved to Taos, New Mexico for an artist-in-residence position at Taos Clay. This residency gave her the opportunity to find a direction in clay. Now Sarah lives and works in Taos, NM as a full time studio potter and part time manager at Taos Clay Studio and Gallery.
