My work is a process of finding or uncovering a form.  There is a constant flow of images in my mind: glimpses os possibilities, shapes, colors and materials.  All of my work is hand forged, an ancient process of shaping metal using and anvil and a hammer.

Richard Hogan is an artist living and working and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Richard was born in Youngstown Ohio, and received his BA and MA from the University of New Mexico in 1962 and 1967, respectively. His work is in the permanent collections at the Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, the Museum of Albuquerque, The Capital Art Collection in the NM State Capital, the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery in Lincoln Nebraska, the Roswell Museum and the Santa Fe Community College Collection.

Richard Hogan has been included in four major art publications; The Art of New Mexico: How the West is One, 2007, by Joseph Ttraugott, 100 Artists of the Southwest, 2006, by Douglas Bullis, New Mexico Artists at Work, 2005, by Dana Newmann, and Abstract Art, 2003, by Stuart Ashman and Suzanne Deats.
